Ki Bum Hong, Ph.D. 

Ki Bum is a Senior Researcher of the New Drug Development Center Daegu-Gyeongbuk Medical Innovation Foundation (DGMIF) in Daegu, Korea.

Ki Bum was born South Korea where he completed mandatory military service prior to earning a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry from Chungnam National University in Daejeon, Korea. He subsequently earned a Master of Science at the same institution where he examined the "Synthesis of Pyrrole-heterocycles via Pd-Loaded Zeolite Catalyzed Annulation of o-Haloaromatic Amines with Terminal Alkynes." 

He began his doctoral studies at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN under Professor Jeffrey N. Johnston. In 2006 he moved with the Johnston Group to Vanderbilt University earning his Ph.D. in 2010
