The Donahue Research Group laboratory is located on the 4th floor of the Bobby Chain Technology Center.
The TEC 406 research lab occupied by the Donahue group is nearly 1000 square feet in area. The space includes four chemical fume hoods, two central benches, two side benches and six student desks.
Each student researcher works in their own fume hood and has a bench with a suite of glassware to conduct their research.
The lab has a common Dell laptop for writing manuscripts.
The chemical fume hood is central to every organic synthesis laboratory. As an engineering control, this piece of equipment ensures researcher safety by capturing noxious volatiles and exhausting them away from the breathing zone. The hood sash provides a physical barrier between the operator and the apparatus offering protection from splashes or explosions.
The four hoods in the Donahue research lab measure 7 feet wide by 3 feet deep
